Auction Monthly is a Sports Card Company you can Trust!
Who Owns Auction Monthly?
Auction Monthly is a family-owned business that was founded by two sports card experts – Ty and Brandon. Ty knew one day he would be able to harness his 45 years of sports card collecting experience with his 30 years of successful business marketing experience and create a dream sports cards business.
The dream became a reality when Ty left the marketing industry to start a sports card company with his son Brandon. With the ability to retain an incredible amount of modern and vintage sports card details and pricing by memory, Brandon is building a reputation as one of the top young minds in the sports card industry. Together Ty and Brandon are a powerful force in the sports card world and are changing the game of how sports cards are sold.
Founders Ty and Brandon put customers first by offering better selling options and providing customers with a unique selling model based on honesty, integrity, and knowledge. Auction Monthly is a family-owned business that treats customers like family.
The Beginning
The year was 1979 and it was a hot California summer day. After hours of playing street ball, Ty organized a baseball card trading event with neighborhood friends. This was a special day as Ty was finally able to complete a trade to acquire the baseball card he had always wanted – a 1975 Topps George Brett rookie. This deal was the beginning of Ty’s passion for buying, selling and trading sports cards.
In 1983, after a few years of trading sports cards in the neighborhood and building a nice sports card collection, Ty turned 16 and decided to buy his first car. Ty sold his sports cards and paid cash for a 1976 Toyota Celica. Saving up money to pay cash for a car was a great life lesson but make sure you don’t ask Ty what cards he gave up in that collection that he sold!
Moving forward to 2010. Ty took his 7-year-old-son, Brandon, to his first sports card show. Brandon begged his dad to allow him to spend $100 of his own money on a card. So he bought a 2009 Stephen Curry auto card at the show. The card was sent to Beckett and it was graded a 9. The card today is worth $5,000.
Brandon and Ty were hooked and they started a plan to someday own a sports card business. The rest is sports card history…
